Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of hosted Whereboard (“Service”). By creating a workspace, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Whereboard is a visual team presence board. Members report their own status and location on a shared board. Features and limits depend on your plan (Starter, Team, Business, Enterprise, or self-hosted Community Edition).
2. Accounts & workspaces
- You choose a team subdomain (e.g.
yourteam.www.whereboard.xyz). Names must not be offensive, misleading, or infringe others’ rights. - You are responsible for users you invite and for keeping sign-in links confidential.
- We may suspend workspaces that violate these Terms or pose security or abuse risk.
3. Subscriptions & payment
- Paid plans are billed in advance via Stripe unless otherwise agreed.
- Prices are per organization (team), not per seat, as shown on our pricing page.
- You may cancel according to your plan; access continues through the paid period unless we terminate for breach.
- Refunds are at our discretion except where required by law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harassing, or discriminatory purposes.
- Attempt to breach security, probe other tenants, or overload our systems.
- Upload malware or content you do not have rights to use.
- Resell the hosted Service without written permission.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of content you upload (avatars, floorplans). You grant us a limited license to host, display, and back up that content solely to operate the Service.
6. Availability
We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, and third-party failures (DNS, payment, email) may occur. Enterprise SLAs, if any, are defined in a separate agreement.
7. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, non-payment, or operational reasons with notice when practical. Provisions that should survive (payment obligations, liability limits, governing law) will survive termination.
10. Self-hosted software
Community / self-hosted editions are subject to the open-source or separate license shipped with that software.
These Terms apply to the hosted service at www.whereboard.xyz, not necessarily to copies you run on your own servers.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator of www.whereboard.xyz is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
